VDI: CreateEx failed error when running traditional SQL Backup set..
Symptoms
The following error may be generated when attempting to back up a SQL database on a Windows server where the DS-Client is installed using the 'My Computer' option:
VDI: CreateEx failed error when running traditional SQL Backup set
Cause
The SQL Server instance can't be backed up as 'My Computer' backup but rather as a network node
Workaround
Migrate the backup set to a network node and start the backup.
On the DS-User right click on the backup set, select 'Migrate' and select the server from the Microsoft Windows Network or type in its host name.
Note: Do not use pipe or DS-Client as a dump method but rather use the SQL Source disk as the dump path
